
Deputy Director for Research – Air Force Institute of Technology
Prof. Andrzej Żyluk, Ph.D., DSc, Eng. specializes in the study of aircraft and aircraft weapon systems throughout their technical life cycle—from development, through production and operation, to disposal. One of his key areas of research is the aerodynamics, motion dynamics, and control of miniature aircraft. He has participated in, and continues to participate in, several research projects funded by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, and subsequently the National Centre for Research and Development, including international projects in which he served as project manager and principal contractor. He collaborates with numerous Polish and international universities, research institutes, and industrial plants. The results of numerous research and scientific studies have been implemented into production and operational use by both the Polish Armed Forces and foreign entities. He is a member of scientific councils and scientific societies in Poland and abroad, including the International Association of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), the PT-6 Technical Subcommittee for Standardization, the Polish Aeronautical and Astronomical Society, the Scientific Council of the Air Force Institute of Technology, the Association of Polish Mechanical Engineers and Technicians, the Science Evaluation Commission, and the Supervisory Board of WZL-2. He has supervised over a dozen doctoral dissertations, including 10 completed ones, and has reviewed dozens of doctoral dissertations, habilitations, and professorships in the field of aviation and astronautics. He is an active academic teacher who has supervised numerous engineers and masters’ degrees in aviation and astronautics, as a professor at the Air Force Military Academy in Dęblin.
