Head of the Central Economics Library (CEL), the European Documentation Centre and the Publishing Office at the School of Economics and Business at the University of Ljubljana (UL)
Tomaž Ulčakar began his professional career at the University of Ljubljana, School of Economics and Business in 2000, starting in the Central Economics Library, where he held various roles, eventually becoming head from 2016 to 2022. Between 2010 and 2016, he worked in the Publishing Office, overseeing the publication of textbooks, academic and professional works, and coordinating the release of Slovenia’s leading scientific journal in economics and business, Economic and Business Review.
Since 2022, Tomaž has led the Research Unit at SEB LU, with a primary focus on supporting research activities. He coordinates four key offices: The Research Office, Doctoral Programme Office, Central Economics Library, and Publishing Office. In addition, he manages the school’s Infrastructure Center, which includes the Behavioural and Finance Labs, playing a vital role in enhancing the research environment. His responsibilities include providing comprehensive support to the Associate Dean for Research and Doctoral Studies, contributing to the advancement of the school’s research output.
In recognition of his contributions to librarianship, Tomaž Ulčakar received the prestigious Slovenian Čop Award in 2023, a national honour that highlights his dedication to advancing the field of library science.
