
Senior Economist in the Global Finance, Competitiveness and Innovation Practice, World Bank
Łukasz Marć is a Senior Economist in the Global Finance, Competitiveness and Innovation Practice of the World Bank, where he focuses on the private and research sectors, in particular innovation, industry-research cooperation, productivity, startup ecosystems, and digitalization and greening of enterprises. His recent projects have focused on the transformation of the research sector in Romania, energy efficiency and industrial competitiveness in Romania, examining the impact of public aid for enterprises on their performance in Poland and the digitalization of companies in Poland and Romania, reviewing policies supporting research, technology adoption and innovation in Poland, Romania, Bulgaria and Croatia. Previously he worked as Youth Forward Learning Partnership manager and researcher at the Overseas Development Institute (ODI) in London, as an assistant professor at Vistula University in Warsaw and as an analyst at the Institute for Structural Research in Warsaw. He holds an MA from the Warsaw School of Economics and a PhD in development economics from the Tingerben Institute and VU Universitat in Amsterdam. He also has project experience in Azerbaijan, Ghana, Uganda, Nigeria and Kenya.
